Hi, I am Dr Karla Heredia.

My work is rooted in helping people heal from the inside out, starting with the gut.

I have always believed the gut is where the body whispers before it ever starts to yell. Over the years, I have seen how closely the gut is tied to our emotional and physical wellbeing. When it is overwhelmed, people often feel anxious, tired, depressed, foggy, or disconnected from themselves. 


When the gut begins to heal, the mind becomes clearer, the body softens, and life starts to feel like it is finally flowing again.


My approach is grounded in my training through The Wellness Way as a Certified Health and Restoration Coach and as a practitioner of functional and holistic medicine. I am also certified in clinical homeopathy and natural medicine, and I am continuing my education with the Functional Nutrition Alliance to deepen my understanding of how nutrition, environment, inflammation, and hormones shape long term health.

At HTG Heal the Gut, we begin by listening to you

We listen to your story, your pace, and the way your body has been trying to get your attention.

 From there, we use targeted testing such as food allergy and sensitivity panels, stool testing, and hormone insight tests like the DUTCH to understand what is happening beneath the surface. My passion for gut healing began when I watched how much emotional peace people found once their body finally felt safe again. These results guide us in creating a healing plan that feels personal, manageable, and supportive of your real life, not a perfect one.

A meaningful part of this work is helping people understand the connection between the gut and the brain. The gut is not only a digestive system. It is a communication center that shapes mood, focus, motivation, and emotional steadiness. More than 90% of serotonin begins in the gut. Nearly half of dopamine is created there. Calming neurotransmitters like GABA also start in the gut. When this system is imbalanced, people may feel overwhelmed, stressed, low in mood, or simply unlike themselves. When the gut begins to heal, emotional balance often returns with it. People start to sleep better, breathe easier, and reconnect with who they are.


My intention is to create a space where you feel understood, supported, and encouraged as you move through your healing. This journey is not about perfection. It is about giving your body what it needs to recover, restore, and thrive in a way that feels gentle, grounded, and sustainable. Healing the gut is a process, and I am here to walk with you through every step.
